Culture Notes
These high climbing vines will grow on walls, fences, and arbors. They often are allowed to cover the side of a brick building. However, since it climbs by means of adhesive disks, potential damage to masonry walls and buildings is likely. Although the blooms of Boston Ivy are fairly inconspicuous, they do attract multitudes of bees. Bright red fall color is a hallmark of this rapidly growing vine. This is the plant that covers the outfield wall at Wrigley Field in Chicago.Â
